Neil fires a sizzling 65 to lift the Summer Cup

Congratulations to Neil Rennie who fired a sizzling six under par 65 to win this year’s Summer Cup on Saturday.

It was another good day for golf and the greens continue their improvement after recent maintenance.

In a decent field of 103 players Neil won by two shots from Brian Robertson on 67 in second and Robert Montgomery in third with a three under par 68.

Neil was net level par 36 for the front nine but had a fantastic back nine which was made up of 8 pars and one bogey for a gross 37 giving an unbeatable net 29 and deservedly taking the trophy. Well played Neil great scoring.

Brian Robertson finished two shots behind with a four under par 67 which unfortunately included a costly quadruple at the 9th.Still good scoring Brian, well done.

Robert Montgomery produced his best form of the season to finish third on 68 by virtue of back six countback ahead of Oran McGhie, who also scored a three under par 68, despite his birdie finish.. Good effort lads.

Neil will receive his trophy and voucher on Presentation day later in the year and picked up a tidy £45.45 in the competition sweep.

Brian won £27.27 for second place and Oran £18.18 for third place

In the “Two’s” sweep competition there were 5 winners at the 15th hole:

David James, Andrew Mason, Alex Bathgate, Mark Fowler and Francis Barkey who all won £16.16 each.

In the Gross score sweep it was Callum Regan who took the bragging rights with a score of 74, just pipping Mark Littlejohn on back nine countback.

Callum’s round included four birdies at 4, 8, 10 and 12 and Mark had three birdies at 2, 10 and 12. Good scoring guys.

Callum picked up £10.10 towards his Shop account.
