Scott Medal 2025Alan JJ Thomson wins the Scott Medal 2025 Final

It was an exciting finish to the Scott Medal Final with 3 players in the running. It took a countback to separate the top two with Alan JJ Thomson coming out on top from Steven Johnston.

In very reasonable weather conditions for the end of September and the course once again looking fantastic, only 3 players broke par. It was Alan JJ Thomson who took top spot with a fine 67 (76-9). Alan played very steady on the front 9 going out in 35 but stepped it up on the back 9 coming home in 32 with 3 net birdies at 11, 13 and 14. He had a bogey at 15 but finished superbly with a gross birdie at 18 to take the win.

Steven also shot 76 off 9 but was back in 33 shots. Steven got off to a poor start with double bogeys at 1 and 3 but fought back with 3 net birdies and a net eagle to be out in 34. He had another 2 net birdies and a net eagle on the back 9 but a bogey at 15 and a double at 16 proved costly.

Stuart Stirling took third place with a 69 (82-13). In a roller coaster round, Stuart was 3 under net after 14 holes with 6 net birdies. Although he finished with a net eagle at 18, a triple bogey at 15 had left him with too much to do to threaten the leaders.

Alan wins £21.50 sweep, Steven gets £12.90 and Stuart wins £8.60

Two players had a birdie at the 15th. Steven Provan and David Heeps each winning £14.

Congratulations to all winners.
