Seniors Open Pairs Better Ball

Monday 28th September

Well done to Michael Cassaly (Harburn Golf Club) and David Arnott (Leven Golfing Society) on winning the Seniors Open Pairs Better Ball with a brilliant 62. After the washout of the original competition 10 days ago the weather could not have been any better and, despite the significant rainfall of the last few days, the course was in magnificent condition. A light breeze made conditions a little tricky but there were still some brilliant scores.

In an extremely tight finish Michael and David took top spot on countback. They finished level with Brian Gifford and James Robertson from Clober Golf Club but were back in a magnificent 28, 2 shots better than Brian and James. A shot further back on 63 (33-30) were Robert Spence and Alex Potter from Braehead (Alloa) Golf Club. Robert and Alex finished a shot ahead of two other teams. Brian Anderson and John Forbes (Harburn Golf Club) were fourth on countback thanks to an inward half of 30, a shot better than Paul and Mark Bevis (Harburn Golf Club).

Harburn would like to thank all participants for supporting the competition, some who had travelled a significant distance. You were all very welcome and we hope to see you again next year.
