Morning all on another rather cold and dreich day!

Yesterday (Saturday) saw Jennifer out first against Rachael Livingston (Baberton).  Jennifer’s game was close most of the way round with never more than 1 hole up or down between the two players.  The 15th was the turning point, which is where an old golfer once said “Matchplay doesn’t start till the 15th”.  From being all square after 14, Jennifer then went on to comfortably win 3/2.  A great win!

Jennifer then had go back out on the course to play her quarter final match against Lucy Morrison (Gullane).  Jennifer battled hard but unfortunately lost her match on the 18th.

In the B Championship quarter finals, Meg took a quick lead to go 3 up.  Sheila scrambled her way back and the match was all square after 10.  From then on it was 1 up or 1 down and standing on the 18th tee, the match was all square.  Meg played steadily along the par 5, whilst a wayward 3rd shot by Sheila saw her almost out of bounds.  Sheila then thought it would be a good idea to knock her next shot into a bunker, whilst Meg putted down nicely to the hole and win the match.  A great match and a deserved win for Meg!

Meg now plays in the semi final today at 11:15 against Margaret Parr (Merchants).
