Kirk Rosebowl Medal – Wednesday 1st May
Ronnie Houston takes leading qualifier in latest Kirk Rosebowl qualifier on 42 points, in the first of four scheduled Stableford qualifiers as part of a revised format this season.
A very healthy field of 122 players competing to book their qualifying place.
In the Division One competition Jim Davidson took the honours with 39 Points, four points clear of Karl Conway on 35 Points. Karl taking second on the countback from William Saunders, Steven Johnston and Stephen Barkey.
Jim was out in 20 Points and came home with 19 Pointshelped along with birdies at 8, 9, 11 & 17.
Karl was out in 17 Points and came back with 18 Points. Karl with a birdie at hole 2.
In Division 2, Bob Barkey took top spot with a fine 40 Pointsgiving him a two point advantage over second placed Alan Mark on 38 Points.
Bob went out in a fine 21 Points and returned with 19 Points.
Alan out in 20 Points and came home with 18 Points which included a birdie 2 at hole 15.
In Division 3, Ronnie Houston took top spot and leading qualifier with 42 Points finishing four points clear of second placed Iain Johnston on 38 Points. Iain beating Walter Davidson on the countback for the second spot.
Ronnie went out in 20 Points and returning in a very good tally of 22 Points. Ronnie securing birdies at holes 5, 8 & 12.
Iain went out in 18 Points and returning in a healthy 20 Points which included a birdie 2 at hole 15.
Seven players birdied the 15th hole, William Saunders, Angus Wragg, Tom Woods, Alan Mark, Iain Johnston, Malcolm McGowan and Scott Ramsay each collecting £13.37in the “Two’s” sweep.
*A mention for our professional Stuart Houlden who also managed to secure a birdie 2 at the 15th hole but due to his status is exempt from the 2’s sweep.
Hole in One!!!
