Congratulations to Bill McKenna and Alexander Thomson on winning the Harburn Masters this weekend.

Bill won the A class competition in spectacular fashion with a five under par aggregate score of 136, just one shot clear of Craig Galloway who finished with a four under par score of 137.

Overnight leader Jim Davidson finished third on three under par 139.

What a finish between Bill and Craig.

Craig had a brilliant back nine which included six 3’s in the last 7 holes and looked all over the winner.

However, Bill finished eagle, birdie at the last two holes to win this year’s coveted Green Jacket and Trophy in the tightest of finishes.

They do say the Masters is all about the last nine holes – great finish guys!

Bill wins £50 for his Pro Shop Account as well as the Green Jacket and Masters Trophy, Craig wins £30 as runner up and Jim picks up £20 in third place.

Craig Galloway and Craig Deerness win £25 each for their joint best scratch scores of 69, two under par over the weekend.

In the B&C competition it was just as close.

Both Alexander Thomson and Richard Burns fired the low rounds of the weekend today posting seven under 64’s but Alex’s 72 yesterday was enough to seal the win by one shot from Richard. Alex finishing on 136, six under par and Richard one shot behind on five under par 137.

Kevin Brunton finished third on four under 138.

Alex wins £50 for his Pro Shop account plus the Green Jacket and Masters trophy and he also earns a further £25 alongside Richard for their low rounds of the weekend.

Richard wins £30 in second place and Kevin £20 for third spot.

A huge thanks to all the competitors for taking part, particularly our new members for supporting the event and giving it a real go.

Well done to the Greens team for preparing the course in great order after a really wet spell and nice to see our Pro team Stuart and Cammy playing in the competition for fun with some of our members and getting into the spirit of the event.

Gents, great stuff again this year, with lots of low scoring and back nine drama.

The Full Leaderboard will be published tomorrow and posted on the Club noticeboards and is also attached.

Now we can settle down to a cracking evening’s golf from Augusta.
