Alistair Greer wins the Scott Medal

Countback win for Alistair over Scott Allen
Congratulations to Alistair Greer on winning the Scott Medal Final yesterday.
The weather held up for the players and the course as always was presented in fine condition by the greenkeeping team, but it proved difficult with only 2 players breaking par.

Alistair carded a fine 3 under round of 68 (35+33) just beating young junior member Scott Allen on back nine countback.
A round which included 3 birdies at 2, 11 and finishing off in great style with a 3 at 18 after a little wobble at the short 15th regained his composure to finish the job.
Scott Allen put in a fantastic performance also shooting 68 (33 +35) doing all his best work on the front nine and although he birdied 13, he let a few shots get away from him at 15 and 16 which damaged his chances of the win.

Bill McKenna carded a par 71 (39 +32), winning on a six-hole countback from David Heeps.
Bill will be disappointed with his front nine score but upped his game on the back nine with a terrific eagle at 17 followed by a birdie finish which was enough to get him in the money.
David Heeps had identical scoring (39+32) in a round of two halves but could not match Bill’s finish.
Mark Littlejohn also carded a 71 (34 +37), enjoyed a solid 2 under par front 9 but a double at 13 proved costly for him.

Two players managed birdies at the 15th hole David Heeps and Leigh Connor, both winning £15.60 each. Well played both.

Well done again Alistair on your win and congratulations to all the finalists.
