Captains Trophy 2026

Congratulations to Brian Lee who lifted the Captains Trophy Strokeplay competition with a solid performance in extremely difficult windy conditions for all the players today. Thanks to all 70 competitors who took part.

No players in the field broke par but Brian played the conditions best, shooting a 1 over par net 72 (83-11). Brian kept his best golf for the back nine securing six pars on the way in giving him a net level par 35 and winning by 2 shots ahead of four players – Allan Maxwell, Mike Cassaly, Nick Henderson and Paul Chisholm all finishing on 74.
Allan took second spot in the Handicap competition with his 74 (83-9).

Club Champion Nick Henderson took the spoils in the scratch competition with a very creditable gross 74 in the conditions (39/35) whilst Mike Cassaly just edged out Paul Chisholm on a back nine countback for second spot with both players shooting gross 79.
Well done to Janet Hardie winning the Ladies Scratch prize scoring 100 and to Helen Warnock for winning the Handicap prize.

Hunter Stewart picks up the best placed junior prize with a score of 96.

There were only 3 two’s today on the par three’s such was the course playing difficulty – congratulations to Paul Chisholm for his two at the 3rd, Mike Cassaly for his two at the 15th and Greg Dymock for his two at the 5th. Well done guys.
However, special mention to Chris Forbes who scored an EAGLE 2 at the 10th hole – well done Chris.

Because there were only 23 birdies today the Club will donate £10 per birdie plus £20 for Chris’s Eagle to our nominated charity, generating £250 for the local Rosebery Centre in Polbeth.

Thanks to everyone today for supporting the event.
