Congratulations to Ross Adamson and Alan Lambert Thomson on winning the Harburn Masters this weekend.
Ross won the A class competition with 2 terrific 69s to finish with a two round total of 138, 4 under par, a convincing 8 shots ahead of second place Neil Owen. Kevin Brunton was a shot further back on 147.
Ross started Sunday 4 shots ahead and settled very quickly going out in 34 to consolidate his lead. He had a shaky start to the back nine but was never really in much trouble, finishing with 2 gross birdies. Very steady golf from Ross, well done.
It was a much closer finish in the B&C competition.
With 3 shots between the first 5 players after round 1 it looked as if would be much tighter and that’s how it proved. Alan Lambert Thomson was 3 shots behind after his 71 on Saturday but took first place with a fantastic second round of 69 to win by a shot with a total of 140. Alan had a back 9 of 33 which was just too good on the day. Stuart Stirling took second place after rounds of 69 and 72. A back nine today of 38 was Stuart’s undoing. Graham Strang was a close third on 142.
Both Ross & Alan win £50 for their Pro Shop accounts plus the Green Jacket and Masters trophy.
A huge well done to the Greens team for preparing the course in great order after a really wet spell. It was great to see our pro Stuart playing in the competition and well done on his fantastic hole in one at the 15th on Saturday.
