The Gents Summer League team have made a fantastic start to this season’s league campaign making it two wins out of two last night.

 

The new season got underway on Friday night with a tough away match to last season’s beaten finalists Dundas Park.

 

Led this year by the returning Ross Boyle he has the team in good fettle early in the campaign.

 

Friday night’s game ended in a brilliant away win with a 4 & 2 victory.

 

Debut player Craig McGinley was first out and duly repaid his Captain’s choice with a win at the 18th.

 

Craig Galloway played well winning 2&1 and Ross played a Captain’s part also winning 3 & 2.

 

Win of the night was Craig Deerness with a fantastic up and down at the last to secure victory for the team.

 

Nick Henderson lost in match 2 and it was great to see the return of Sid Curran back from recent health issues to play a part in a winning team. Nice to have you back Sid!

 

Last night the team were back at Harburn for a home match against Deer Park.

 

Ross mixed it up by making use of the squad bringing in Connor Bennewith, Greg Dymock and Calum Regan.

 

Craig McGinley made his home debut and secured a half in match one. Great start to the newcomer’s campaign.

 

Greg Dymock playing in his first match of the season secured victory on the 18th to put the team ahead.

 

Calum Regan, another of Ross’s new picks duly delivered win a convincing 3 & 2 win in his game, and although Craig Galloway and Connor Bennewith lost their games making the match all square, Ross stepped up as Captain and last man out and won his match 2 & 1 giving his team a fine 3 ½ to 2 ½ win.

 

Great start for the team making it two out of two so far. Well done lads!
