Kirk rosebowl April 17The opening round of the Kirk Rosebowl Medal qualifiers took place in much improved conditions after a sustained period of bad weather. The course holding up really well. Ahealthy field of 95 players competing to book their place in the Final on August 21st.  

In the Division One competition Nick Henderson took the honours with a gross 70 which gave a net 70, two shots clear of Ged Sharkey. Ged securing second by beating Scott O’Hagan, Jim Davidson and Stephen William Forrest on the countback.

Nick was out in 36 and came with home with a very strong 34helped along with birdies at 4, 6, 12, 16 & 17.

Ged was out in 40 and came back in 39 shots giving a net score of 72.

Nick won £15.60 for first place in the sweep and Ged pickedup £8.40.

In Division 2, Alan Lambert Thomson took top spot and leading qualifier with a gross 78 giving a net score of 67beating Neil Rennie who was second, two shots back on 69 after a gross score of 83.

Alan went out in 37 and a back nine of 41 including birdies at 5, 6 & 16.

Neil out in 43 with and returning with 40 including a birdie at 13.  

Alan won £30.55 for first place in the sweep and Neil picked up £16.45.

 

In Division 3, Ronnie Houston took top spot with a net score of 68 beating David Hepburn who was second, five shots back on 73.

Ronnie went out in 44 and returning in 43 for gross 87 net 68.

David went out in 46 and returning in 48 for gross 94 net 73.

Ronnie won £15.60 for first place in the sweep and Davidpicked up £8.40.

 

Only one player birdied the 15th hole, Mark ‘Ginge’ Littlejohn collecting £73.60 in the “Two’s” sweep. Well done!
