Neil Rennie is top qualifier
The first Labinjoh Medal of the year was played in difficult conditions with only 7 out of the 61 players breaking 70. The top qualifier was Neil Rennie with a very impressive 65 (79 less 14), one stroke ahead of Neil Owen who shot a scratch 73.
Division 1
A brilliant net 66 by Neil Owen gave him a 4 shot margin over Alistair Henderson who’s 70 was good enough to qualify for the final. Neil was out in 36 and back in 37. Great shooting in tricky conditions helped by birdies at 2, 6 and 12. Alistair recovered from a 6 at 13 with birdies at 15 and 17 to come back in 37.
Neil won £7.15 for first place in the sweep and Alistair wins £3.85 for second.
Division 2
Top qualifier Neil Rennie also won his division by 4 shots with a 65 off 14 finishing ahead of Steven Moffat. Steven had a gross 79 which included a mixed back 9 with 3 birdies and 2 double bogeys. Neil was back in a fantastic 37 thanks to birdies at 12 and 17, great shooting.
Neil picks up £14.95 winnings from the sweep and Steven gets £8.05.
Division 3
A much closer contest in division 3 with 3 players finishing on 67. Archer Wilson took first place on countback thanks to a net back 9 of 30 despite a double bogey on 18. Stuart Macpherson finished second thanks to 6 net birdies in the last 7 holes pipping John Stewart on countback by 1 shot. Stewart had the consolation of qualifying for the final.

Archer won £17.55 from the sweep for first place and Stuart gets £9.45 for runner up.
Three players had 2’s at the 15th. Alistair Henderson, Steven Hardie and Thomas Laird each winning £16.27.
