Ladies Round-Up

Harburn Golf Club’s Midway team, consisting of Aileen Kennedy, Helen Warnock, Meg Laidler, and Hazel Deerness, had a successful outing on Monday, defeating Dundas Park with a score of 2.5/1.5. The team now has one last league game to play on August 1st against Pumpherston, and they’re hoping for another solid performance.

In other news, Jennifer Bryans had a tough loss in the East of Scotland Veterans semi-final match, falling 2/1 to Caroline Steedman of Murrayfield. The match took place at Haddington on Saturday.

Karen Thomson, another of Harburn’s Scottish Medal qualifiers, unfortunately did not make it to the final stages of the SG’s Scottish Medal competition. She tied for 8th place at Deerpark, but only the top 6 players advance to the final at Panmure on August 18th. Nevertheless, Harburn’s Jennifer Bryans will be competing in the final after qualifying earlier in the season at Carnwath.
