McInally Matchplay Pairs

Congratulations to Colin Hume and Brian Rooney on winning the McInally Matchplay Pairs Final 4&2 this morning against opponents Jim Davidson and Stewart Linford.

The winners got off to a strong start winning the first two holes but Jim and Stewart fought back determinedly to level the game at the turn.
Colin and Brian once again showed their intent winning three holes in a row 10,11 and 12 to put themselves in a strong position but a good par 3 at the thirteenth from Jim and Stewart narrowed the margin. However, Colin and Brian played a solid 14th hole to go 3 up once again and a half at the short 15th took the game to dormie.
Jim and Stewart found trouble off the tee at 16 and Colin and Brian saw out the hole with a concession winning the match comfortably in the end 4 & 2.
The course once again was presented in fantastic condition for the time of year and the greens were as slick as they have been all season.

All four players played the game competitively but with a real friendly camaraderie.
Well done to Jim and Stewart on reaching the Final after a great run of victories.
Congratulations to Colin and Brian on their deserved win today.
