Richardson Trophy Final

Alistair Henderson followed up his B Class Championship win last weekend by lifting the Richardson Trophy this afternoon beating Chris Rooney 1 up.

Conditions were tough with strong winds making it extremely difficult for both players to contend with.

It was Chris who started the better winning the first hole and moved to 2 up through six However, Alistair won seven and a fine birdie four at the 9th took the match to level at the turn. Alistair took advantage of poor play by Chris at the 10th and 11th holes and took command with a fine birdie 3 at the 12th to put himself in a strong position going 3 up.
Chris pulled one back at the par three 13th but Alistair returned the favour with an incredible up and down at the short 15th to take the game to dormie three.

Chris dug deep to win the 16th and then birdied the 17th to take the game down the last.
He had a birdie putt to take the game to extra holes and narrowly missed and Alistair’s par was good enough for the win.
Well done to both players on reaching the Final and a closely fought match. Congratulations to Alistair for his successful back to back winning weekends.
